More and more often, automatic access control replaces the physical key, or even a human guard. A card is more diverse and in many cases a much safer than the alternatives. One card can be configured to unlock multiple doors. However, in the same way, restrictions can be imposed. The same card can be recoded, so it does not need to be thrown away. Moreover, a card can be deactivated in case of loss or theft.
Access control cards often have a RFID-chip and/or a magstripe with thermal printing and additional visible security features such as holograms that help with visual identification.
